Calling all Derby fashionistas!
Get your entry ready for the 2016 Kentucky Derby Museum Hat Contest
Winners will have their hats displayed in the Museum for one year
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Kentucky Derby Museum invites both professionals and amateurs to enter their hats to be included in the 2016 “It’s My Derby” fashion exhibit. The hat contest is a signature element of the exhibition which strives to capture the spirit associated with the landmark sport and cultural event that is the Kentucky Derby.
All hat entries will be judged by an expert panel of judges. The panel will select 20 to 25 hats for display in the Museum’s exhibit for one year. Hats will also be selected for several awards, including a Judges’ Choice Award for best overall entry and Most Representative of Derby Award, presented to the hat that best captures the essence of the Kentucky Derby.
- Entries will be accepted beginning May 8, 2016, the day after Kentucky Derby 142
- All entries must be postmarked by May 31, 2016
- Hats must be delivered or shipped in a box which completely covers and protects it
- No international entries will be accepted
- Museum is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items
