It's my Derby™ 2015
Featuring a star-studded cast, the fifth annual It’s my Derby™ invaded the Keeneland Sales Pavilion for the event that always prompts spontaneous stories and behind-the-scene action.
Host and Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas led the discussion with five Hall of Fame jockeys: Laffit Pincay, Jr., Angel Cordero, Jr., Pat Day, Chris McCarron and Jorge Velasquez as they shared their favorite experiences from winning and competing in the Kentucky Derby.
Before the panelist hit the stage, Museum President Lynn Ashton unveiled for the first time the D. Wayne Lukas Gallery, which will be the primary home to the Museum’s Education Department and its 60,000 student it reaches each year. Lukas, a former educator, is well-known for his love of children.
Each panelist was also featured in an exclusive package that was auctioned off to the crowd, helping the Museum in its efforts to raise funds for its non-profit operation.
Join us next year for this event and to see a new batch of panelists and more Derby stories.
