Derby Dish 2015
Hall of Fame jockey and 1984 Kentucky Derby winner Laffit Pincay, Jr. headlined the Kentucky Derby Museum’s fourth annual Derby Dish, held Sunday, April 19.
Guests witnessed the soggy morning workouts from Kentucky Derby contenders like American Pharaoh, Bold Conquest, Mr. Z and Far Right , before heading back to the Museum for a catered breakfast and examples of fashion for the upcoming Derby, presented by Talbots.
In the main event, Pincay shared his favorite Derby moments and experiences with Courier-Journal Horse Racing Writer Jennie Rees, reminiscing about his 1984 Kentucky Derby victory aboard Swale and his relationship with fellow jockey Bill Shoemaker.
Afterwards, Pincay signed copies of Madelyn Cain's biography, "Laffit: Anatomy Of A Winner” which is now on sale in the Museum’s Finish Line Gift Shop, remarking how great it was to be back in Kentucky.
