Due to the amended racing schedule which eliminates Wednesday races during the remaining weeks of the spring meet at Churchill Downs, the Derby Museum will now offer the Behind the Scenes tours on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays until July 5th. (Excluding Memorial Day week when dark days at the track will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.) Click here for more information about the Behind the Scenes tours. Please be advised, parking in front of the museum is owned by Churchill Downs and there is a $5 charge for the front lot on race days.
The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission has approved Churchill Downs’ request to reduce its spring meet by seven days because of declines in betting and difficulty filling races.
