(Louisville, KY: Immediate Release) The Kentucky Derby Museum is pleased to announce a new partnership with The Silver Spoon, Inc. The Silver Spoon will operate the Derby Museum’s Derby Café and catering operation on the property beginning January 1, 2013.
After a lengthy selection process between eight companies, The Silver Spoon (operated by partners Phillip Koenig and Kathy Hensley) was chosen as the best fit for future food and beverage service at the non-profit Derby Museum. In the interim, Levy Restaurants will continue operation of all food and beverage service inside the Derby Museum.
“Levy Restaurants has been a great partner in serving the guests at the museum and providing seamless service to our rental customers with the high standards we hope to guarantee all of our clients,” says Lynn Ashton, executive director of the Kentucky Derby Museum. “We are very excited to welcome The Silver Spoon, Inc. as a new partner. Their outstanding reputation in this community along with their commitment to excellence secured their position as the Museum’s caterer. We are confident they will treat our clients as their friends and show the true bluegrass hospitality the museum hopes to share with all of our guests.”
President Kathy Hensley says, “The Silver Spoon is thrilled to expand on a longstanding relationship and begin a new partnership with the Kentucky Derby Museum. We have been involved for over 15 years as the caterer for the Derby Museum’s Gala and we are so happy to now be involved with the museum on a daily basis. As Kentuckians and Louisvillians, we are so proud to be a part of such a reputable Kentucky institution. It is a great new adventure for our company and we look forward to getting started.”
Rental clients who have booked events that will be held at the Derby Museum after January 1, 2013 will be put in contact with The Silver Spoon team to coordinate details and menus for their upcoming events.
The Derby Café will remain a destination on the city of Louisville’s Urban Bourbon Trail passport program in the coming year. Bourbon and great Bluegrass fare will continue as unique menu features on both the café and catering menus.
