Fashion takes center stage as we explore this long-standing tradition! This race through Derby fashion history encourages participants to reflect on and discuss a favorite aspect of Derby Day while connecting trends to the changing roles of women. Participants will engage with the stories of great women in Derby history, including Laska Durnell, Isabelle Dodge Sloane, Penny Chenery, and many more, and the objects of the Kentucky Derby Museum collection. Participants will contribute to Derby History at the end of the experience by making their own Derby fascinator or fedora to take home.
